RE: Bt Hub?

Lo Sniffer mate

Yes i think your problem is with your hub,
you need to go and check all your hub settings for port forwarding are
correct, go here and follow the instructions as you read them..
BT HUB PORTFORWARD HELP]BT HUB HELP[/URL]

Open a web browser like internet explorer or Netscape. Enter the ip address
of your router in the address bar of your browser.. Just replace all of that with the ip address of your router.
By default the ip address should be set to 192.168.1.1.

Hope this helps if not give me another shout matey. THE.....K OUT

RE: Bt Hub?

right not good news im afraid.

i have had the same problem for weeks n weeks after 3 hours of talking to the bt broadband helpline in one night they have told me to use my old router.

reason.
the hub is shite u can't forward the port range necessary to play the game it is due to the way the router is configured and the is bugger all u can do about it . the person i spoke to used remote access to my pc and he could'nt figure it out and was asking several peeps at his end to try and help sort the problem.

outcome.
using old router can access aa with no setting up at all and is just as fast(got a few issue's i need to sort with my laptop but my main pc is fine and im enjoying flying again.

oh and bt are still looking into it at the mo.

sorry for the bad news but hope this helps

Not related to the BT Hub, but perhaps you experts can help me. I am using a Netgear wireless router and cannot start the Ketsujin game. When I try to launch I get the following error "no response from network" anywhere from 8 to 13 secs. KAA works fine on the wireless (with port forwarding). Any ideas?

thanks!

Sure m8. It always is a firewall, which is guilty. I assume in your current case it is the one of the router.

You need to setup a static IP-adress for the router first and then forward the ports.

How to set up a static IP adress for routers on WIN XP: http://www.portforward.com/networking/static-xp.htm

Search your router-model here: http://www.portforward.com/english/route…routerindex.htm

Hey there, I'm having a crack at setting up my BT Home Hub (yeah I know I must be stupid), but I've setup the statis IP address OK after finally finding the DNS servers I needed, and now I'm looking to confirm the ports to forward, etc.

Your post above shows a link that deosn't seem to exist anymore at the FA site, is it now the following one for AA?:

AA Firewall Settings

Wish me luck :)

Im curious as to wheather you have gateway discover enabled or Upnp user interface enabled these are components in windows that allow for discovery of upnp devices on a network . These features are under add and remove programs windows components / networking / details with this feature enabled no port forwarding is necessary

Hi Modeam,

I have the following option selected:
Internet Gateway Device Discovery and Control Client

And the other one not selected:
UPnP User Interface

Do you think the second one might make a difference?

Upnp = Universial Plug and Play alot of devices not ony to networking are this type. once enabled you will need to reboot system for discovery also it is wise to run and and remove hardware for full discovery Also check Kaa for system event message checking
